Colors: Teal We Meet Again, Gone Gonzo! and Fresh Frog of Bel Air, all OPI
Sources: Sephora for the color, Sister for the glitters
Application tricks: base coat, two coats of color, Fresh frog at the base, Gonzo at the top, top coat.

This turned out more subtly than I expected, but I got a ridiculous number of compliments on it. Like compliments at the Sephora store when I was buying more shatter polishes. It also held up for about a week and a half (through a convention!)and looked pretty good when I finally broke and started picking at it. OPI polishes REALLY resist being picked off. That's a good thing. It makes it far less interesting to poke at them.

I should be painting my nails soon, but I got a cut on my finger and I want it healed before I touch polish remover!

Colors: Planks A Lot and Silver Shatter, both OPI
Sources: Sister!
Application tricks: Base coat, two coats of Planks, one shatter coat, top coat.

I think the shatter coat shattered a little more after I put on the top coat because the texture was different in the morning. It behaved well though, and I closed the bottle as tightly as I could. I think I want a higher contrast between colors next time I use the shatter, but I do like how my nails look right now.

Colors: Slime by Warpaint Beauty and AA10 by Pa Nail Color Premier
Sources: Hot Topic, Marukai
Application tricks: Base coat, two coats of Slime, more or less two coats of AA10, top coat.

AAAAAARGH! Big glitter is hard to apply!! It kept sliding off the brush!! My thumb nail is the only one that got three glitters. More got one than two. Still, I like the effect even if the result is a little bumpy and I want to pick at it. I lost one glitter after about 4 days, and one of them split, which was really, really odd.

Slime behaved better than it has in the past, in the sense that it's not really chipping and peeling on its own. The top coat is helping there. But I still didn't get a very smooth or thick layer the way I wanted.

I've recently gotten super-fascinated with nail polish again, so I decided to see if it could hold my attention enough for me to regularly blog about it. At the very least, it'll help me keep track of how different colors look on my nails.

Color: Meep Meep Meep by OPI (part of the muppets line)
Source: Gift from sis
Neat application tricks?: Used base and top coats. Two coats of color.

The color in the image is pretty accurate, but the sparkles got lost when I shrunk the image down. The picture is from two days after I painted them, so the color is holding up pretty well on that hand. The right has a two small chips.

Easy to apply a good layer, dried pretty fast.

It's a little pink for my tastes, but I'll definitely use it again since I seem to think it's an excuse to wander around meeping.

No, this journal isn't privacy locked or anything. I just really, really don't post much.

And I am starting to shift my attention over to Dreamwidth, so if there's a comm or a person I should be aware of, tell me! Especially if the person might possibly be using a different username than on LJ.

Oh, hey, just noticed that this will crosspost to LJ. Even better! LJ peeps, hunt me down on Dreamwidth! Same username and everything. (No, I'm not abandoning LJ. I still like LJ and some of the comms there. I just also like to read lots and lots of fanfic. DW seems to be the better place to do that these days.)
